About the Author

Charles H. Corwin has dedicated over 30 years to teaching chemistry to more than 10,000 students. While he has taught general chemistry, organic chemistry, and quantitative analysis, his primary focus has been on introductory chemistry due to the personal rewards it offers.

Corwin completed his degrees at San Jose State University, where he was a member of the Tau Delta Phi honor society. Early in his career, he received a National Science Foundation grant to research educational innovations at Grand Valley State University. Currently, he is a chemistry professor at American River College, where he was named Teacher of the Year in 1994. He has also been honored with an Alumni Teaching award from Purdue University.
